This year's Christmas Window at my house. Badger and Mole, setting off to deliver their presents on Christmas Eve. I based it on some drawings I had in various notebooks (I searched through a LOT of notebooks to find this little mole!) I started with a blown up copy of a sketch, for the outlines, printed across a few sheets of paper, taped it on the outside of the window to get the main shape, then worked freehand.
It looks different as the light changes too, and I find it easier to work on it when it is still a bit dark outside. Painting notes: I used Posca pens and a little gouache and wanted it to work from both sides, although I do this for us (inside) primarily - you get a very different effect from the outside, flatter- and you have to layer it - the first marks made are seen on the outside so details first. My working style is always 'make mistakes, fix it' so I have cotton buds and tissue at the ready. (and yes it will just wash/rub off)
